Poem: The End of Myself
Deconstructing "Being Enough"
In our weakness, our God is more than enough. May this psalm encourage you to run to Him when you are at the end of yourself.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 says, “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
The End of Myself
I can't fill the gaps Of all that I lack With More of myself More accomplishments More worthiness More togetherness More sweet, pretty prayers More "I'll be good, I swear" More Instagram-able smiles More days in Sunday aisles. I can't fill the gaps Of all that I lack With Less humanity. "I'm not enough." Is the cure. Not the disease. "I'm broken." Is the solution. Not the problem. The end of myself Is where You, my Savior, Can finally begin.
